Community & Access

The Valley Forge Park Alliance (VFPA) is committed to ensuring all visitors, members, and board representatives feel welcome, safe, and encouraged to visit the park, be their authentic selves, and enjoy all this national treasure has to offer. The VFPA strives to foster an environment that inspires diversity of thought and the exchange of ideas, regardless of an individual’s race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, primary language, or socioeconomic status. The VFPA will ensure that our desire to welcome all marginalized groups is demonstrated through consistent action and diverse partnerships. The VFPA is open to anyone who shares our mission to preserve, share and learn from our collective history, foster community stewardship, promote advocacy, and create an empowering environment for all.

    • Engage with local and diverse organizations surrounding the park and the Greater Philadelphia area (e.g. government, recreational, non-profit, community-based, and civic) in ways that are meaningful to VFNHP visitors.

    • Connect with local colleges and their respective organizations to attract a diverse group of students interested in bringing relevant experiences and ideas to partnership and internship opportunities within VFPA initiatives.

    • Plan events that promote the equitable use and enjoyment of VFNHP and VFPA resources (including the Maurice Stephens House) by a diverse set of visitors.
